  1. Young Harry Mudd shows up in Star Trek Discovery as a very capable narcissistic con. With that characterization, the idea that he can manipulate credentials picked from pockets is now very believable.

  2. “Parking orbit” is a stable orbit that a spacecraft enters in preparation for other maneuvers. It’s usually used to describe a rocket launching to low Earth orbit before performing a departure burn to head for its destination.
    As opposed to a direct departure, parking orbit offers flexibility in the launch time and allows an opportunity to check out systems in vacuum before heading out of reach, but the extra ignition can be riskier.
